How to apply for room at the Residence

How to apply for a room at the Residence for the first time? You may contact us and we will send you the necessary documentation or you may want to download it directly from our website: Application Form (fiil in and sign), Internal and Administrative Policies (sign) and order the money transfer of the application fee to the bank account contained in the Administrative Regulations. In addition to sending these documents, we need you to send us a copy of the bank's transfer record.

What are the admission criteria that follows ONIX Residence? Mainly, be enrolled and accepted at a University or Study centre in Barcelona or surroundings. The criteria for the allocation will depend on the requirements met by the applicants registered for the type of rooms and their availability for the next course. The order followed is: first in, first served.

Where may I find the Registration Forms? You can download them from our website or ask for them via e-mail, writing to frontdesk@residenciaonix.com

Do I necessarily must have an e-mail to apply for a room? It is desirable but not essential. You can also send us your request via regular mail, fax or by coming to the Residence.

What is the application dead line to apply for a room in the Residence? There is no deadline for submitting the Application Form, it is open all year round. Once the allotment of available seats is covered, you can register on a waiting list, without the obligation to pay the Application fee, and we will contact you if there is any cancellation.

Which is the date taken to determine my registration order? The day when the Application fee has arrived to our bank account.

Questions about the room's allocation

I would like to share a room with a friend. What do I have to do? In the registration form you will find a section of preferences asking if you want to share with someone. Please make sure that your friend registers asap for the same course, so we can make the room assignment for both in double or individual room with shared kitchen.

If I do not get the first choice of accommodation requested, will I remain in the waiting list? Whenever we can not grant you the type of room/s of your preference, you automaticaly enter the waiting list until we have it. We will contact you once the arrangements are solved to verify that you are still interested in that room.

What happens if I refuse the room offered to me? In the event that you receive the room you have requested, you will loose the Application fee. Except in the case you have failed de SAT exams or are not accepted into your University and you present a certificate before the due date.

What if I reject the room and then I regret? You should contact us again to enter the waiting list.

How do I cancel my room's allocation process? To cancel the process you must send a rejection letter, either by mail or fax, with supporting documentation explaining your reasons. After evaluating your personal case, we will report if its applicable to refund your application fee and/or deposit or not.

When do I know I have been admitted? From July on you will receive a written notification stating whether or not you have been assigned a room in our Residence.

Waiting lists

What criteria is followed to manage the waiting list? The registrations' entry order determines the order in the waiting list.

I am in the waiting list. What chances have I got? The chances of getting a room being on the waiting list depends on several factors, including the number of cancellations that have not passed the SAT exams or people who are not accepted in the University.

If I get off the waiting list, can I get back again? Yes, there is no problem. You can request your exclusion from it and then be re-included. All you lose is your position on it.

How do I know if I am admitted or not? You will receive an e-mail or a letter informing you on the acceptance or rejection of your registration and all the possible room's allocation relating documents.

The entrance at the Residence

When I can get into my room? A "course" is understood as the period between the dates September 1 to June 30. You will have your room available from September.
In any case if you need to arrive a few days earlier, we can book for you an extra period applying the correspondent fees.

What do I have to bring when I come for the first time? You must bring:  ID and / or Passport photocopy, health card or health insurance, college appication form, 2 photos, Onix Agreement signed,  bank account and bank authorization charge completed and signed (in case you want to make direct debit payments from the second month), plus the first month and deposit payments.

When do I have to pay for the second month? You will be able to pay at Front Desk in cash or by credit card (from the 1st to 5th of each month) or we charge your stay in the bank account that you have indicated us in the Authorization.

Is ONIX closed in December, January or during the Holy week? We never close, we are ready for you, 365 days/24 hours.

Questions about lodgement renewal

What do I have to do to renew the room I already have? You must fill out the Renewal Form we give you at mid-year and submit it to Font Desk before the due date.

How do we assign location for renewals? Students who renew have priority when applying to remain in the same room. If they wish to exchange and share with other students, they also have the same benefits but always depending on the availability of the requested rooms.

I asked to share room with Fredy and I want to change to Robin, how do I do it? You should contact the Front Desk department by mail, fax or telephone, indicating your full name, what was your initial intention and what is your actual one.

I renew, do I have to pay  Application fee and / or deposit again? No, residents who renew must not pay again the Application fee. The deposit shall remain as guarantee from the previous year, if the deposot amount does not change from year to year.

I renew, do I have to provide you with a photograph again? All residents are required to  submit all the documentation again in order to keep our files updated.

What is new this year compared to last one? We have improved Internet services so that you can feel more free browsing; we have enabled a game room and ping-pong table and we have renewed our website where you will be able to interact with ease and agility.
